We’ve updated the Amnezia VPN app with a handful of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Some of the changes are especially important for iOS users.
We’ve also patched a vulnerability in the tun2socks implementation that affected several major VPN providers, ourselves included — the fix is included in this release.
Updates may not appear in your app store right away — it has to go through the moderators first. We’re doing our best to spur the process.
New features
Split tunneling for the VLESS protocol on iOS
You can now choose which apps route their traffic through the protected VLESS/Reality tunnel and which go directly — to your bank or government services, for example — using the split tunneling settings.
Smoother renewal of the Amnezia Premium
Starting with this release, you can renew the subscription directly in the app, as well as from your Personal Dashboard on the website.
Previously, renewals could only be handled through support. Now the app will remind you when your subscription is about to expire, and you’ll be able to renew it in a couple of taps — inside the app, from your dashboard, or by email — with no need to reconfigure anything on your devices.
To renew your subscription:
- Open the server list and find the Amnezia Premium subscription that is expiring soon or already needs renewal.
- Tap on Amnezia Premium and press Renew subscription on the screen that appears.
- Press Renew subscription again on the details screen.

Choosing a plan is easier now
We’ve simplified choosing between our two plans — Amnezia Free and Amnezia Premium — for new users. You’ll find descriptions of the services in the VPN by Amnezia section, so newcomers can see the difference at a glance and find their way around the app more easily.
Fixes
For everyone. We patched a critical vulnerability in the tun2socks module that affected several vendors’ products and could be used to detect the entry points of users’ connections.
In a nutshell: spyware on a user’s device could connect to the VPN client’s proxy without permission and read the IP address of the latter — making it easier to shut down circumvention services. This is no longer a risk.
For iOS users. Fixed Self-hosted and OpenVPN operation, as well as connection recovery over XRay. The second fix also applies to Premium subscribers.
For Android users. Fixed a crash that occurred when importing backups on certain OS versions.
For Linux users. Fixed an issue where the protected connection would drop after the device woke from sleep or the internet connection broke down.
Amnezia — always online
We recommend updating the app from our website or your app store.
Stay safe online on any operating system with Amnezia VPN.
